In 2007, Ryan started designing websites as a hobby. In 2015, he decided he wanted to help public safety organizations build their online presence. He created RD Designs, LLC and started expanding his business. He currently maintains over 70 websites throughout the World. In 2021, he expanded the business into the eCommerce world, allowing organizations to sell merchandise without ever having to touch the product. RD Designs with a purpose — to give back to public safety organizations and their supporters.

Ryan was born into a public safety family and raised in northern Minnesota. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity with a major in Cybercrime Investigations and Digital Forensics from Syracuse University, New York. He also has an Associate’s in Applied Science degree in Law Enforcement from Hibbing Community and Technical College.

Ryan is currently a sergeant with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has worked in the Adult Detention Division, Court Services Division, Enforcement Services Division/Patrol Unit, and is currently assigned to the Technology Unit. He has been employed there since June of 2000.

Ryan is a member of the Real Time Crime Center Association, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Supervisor’s Association, the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the High Technology Crime Investigation Association.

Kate has done graphic design work and photography for over a decade. She is also a freelance writer and editor. She is the marketing director for RD Designs, LLC.

Kate was born into a public safety family and raised in northern Minnesota. She has a hybrid liberal arts and science degree, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Liberty University. She is a graduate student at Liberty University.

Kate works for a police department in the Minneapolis area and currently assigned to the investigations division where she is a detective. During her career, she has been assigned to patrol, field training, the behavioral health unit, and the domestic violence response team. She is a nationally certified emergency medical technician, holds certifications in tactical medicine, and formerly worked for an advanced life support EMS agency. She was the recipient of the 2021 Minnesota Association of Women Police Excellence in Service Award for her work with the domestic violence response team and legislative efforts to strengthen Minnesota’s domestic violence laws.

Kate is a member of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Minnesota Association of Women Police.
